I reimplemented "claude" CLI with codex and gpt-5.4-high. It cost $1100 in tokens, and is 73% faster and 80% lower resident memory during sustained interactive use.

It is very easy to reverse claude from npm distribution, then reimplement is 1:1. It is indistinguishable from the…
I was a little bored on Friday and posted the banger. I thought it was funny. What happened next triggered several philosophical and sociological reflections.
What happened
- I auto‑generated a README and created a GitHub repository.
- I posted about an imaginary AI project and linked to a github repository, presenting it as a serious announcement.
- I think it's a funny commentary on whathever is happening in the AI bubble these days
- The tweet went viral, generating around a 1M views, and people began demanding the ‘missing’ source code.
- Profit
On Saturday, a friend sent me this:

Garry (aka gstack was “god mode”) Tan quoted my message with a comment "We live in remarkable times" comment. Commentary section went completely bananas 🍌

At this point nobody checks the substance. 95% of X (twitter) commentary section is hype-driven. 80% is AI generated comments based on the message content itself.
Anyway, the linked repository is literally nothing but hype-generated-imaginary-project-with-claims. It is just snake oil. And the crowd is totally buying it. 99.9% of what you read here on X is complete and utter bullshit and this is my contribution to the crowd.
The Source
Github repository https://github.com/krzyzanowskim/claude-better? it's trending now with ~400 stars and 44 forks. What is going on, really. Surely, some pointed out the "scam".
MANY DEMAND the missing source code RIGHT NOW or threaten legal action otherwise, because nobody want to be the not high profile customer

I was hoping for a three-commas member to apply, instead got many non-high-profile members 😭😭😭
Me having a good laugh over the weekend nonetheless.
A bit of truth in it is that I indeed have reversed claude, like many others. it is neither hard nor magical. It is also not very educational. Claude is not a very special CLI application after all.

The Product
what I was not wrong about with my satire, according to the current hype consensus: 1. english is code, 2. markdown file is the product, 3. it's over
About that
The AI information hype is at its highest. Almost nobody reads posts. Everyone sends more and more semi or fully AI generated messages with the most ridiculous claims one can think of out there. Praise of AI induces a god‑psychosis that triggers people to post even more ridiculous statements, predictions, and ‘facts’ backed by snake‑oil fuel. Ain't nobody reads the research papers. half of cited research papers in that area are not worthy reading anyway.
Everyone is selling their AI product that changes everything, makes everyone obsolete, and proudly is ready to educate everyone else about skill issues because literally everything is a solver problem with AI. I don't even make that shit up. I already muted half of the english dictionary to filter out the slop messages, and still suffer from severe AI slop overdose. My little experiment is not much different from "we've build browser with 1000 AI agents". FOR REAL.
this post is human made. full of errors. in my second language. while sitting on the couch. sipping matcha latte. counting the number of days since achieving AGI 🍿
